JOIN THE FORGET ME NOT ~ HAMPTONS ARC TEAM

Love compelling mysteries, unforgettable characters, and unexpected twists?
Join Joan Barrett’s Advance Reader Copy (ARC) Team and be among the first to read FORGET ME NOT ~ Hamptons before its official release. As a selected ARC reader, you’ll receive an advance digital copy in exchange for your honest review and have the opportunity to help launch the series by sharing your thoughts with fellow readers.
If you’re excited to discover new books before everyone else and would like to become part of Joan’s growing reader community, we’d love to have you on board.
WHAT IS AN ARC?
An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) is an early edition of a book shared with a selected group of readers before publication. Think of it as stepping back into history before anyone else does—you’re experiencing the story ahead of the crowd.
This version may still have a few small errors or edits, but that’s part of the ARC process. ARC readers are essential to a book’s launch: you help spread the word, create excitement, and guide other readers in deciding if this is a novel they’ll want to read.
If you join, I’m asking for a few simple things:
- Read the book before the release (late September).
- Leave an honest review with Amazon, Goodreads, and possibly with Book Bub, Story Graph, Fable, etc.
- Share your thoughts on what specifically resonated with you.
If you feel inspired, share about the book on social media too. A single post can help connect this story with readers who love mystery romance thrillers.
In return, you’ll get:
- Early access to the book.
- A direct line to me as the author.
- A chance to be a part of the book’s launch from the very beginning.

WHEN TO POST YOUR REVIEW
I will send out an email to all my ARC readers once I have a confirmed date for the launch of the book. If you leave your review on launch day, that would really help to build excitement and visibility for the book!
WHAT TO SAY IN YOUR REVIEW
Keep it honest and spoiler-free. Your words don’t need to be long or formal—just share how the book made you feel and whether you’d recommend it to a fellow mystery romance thriller fan.
WORDING REVIEWS TO STAY COMPLIANT
The FTC and Amazon have strict guidelines, but don’t worry—it’s simple to stay compliant.
1. AVOID INCENTIVIZED PHRASING
Don’t use phrases like:
“I received a free copy”
“In exchange for my review”
Instead, you can say:
“I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and am sharing my honest opinion.”
“Thank you, Joan Barrett for providing me with an advance copy.”
2. FOCUS ON YOUR READING EXPERIENCE
Share what stood out to you, or how it compared to other mystery thrillers you’ve read.
IF YOUR REVIEW GETS FLAGGED BY AMAZON
Sometimes Amazon flags reviews, even when you’ve done nothing wrong. If that happens, just leave your review on Goodreads, BookBub, StoryGraph, or elsewhere. Delays or “pending” status are also normal.
